Why do we do what we do? For me, this question has shaped every step of my career and life. I’m Neil, founder and creative director of Next Breakthrough Media (NBM). This is the story of how my passion turned into a purpose-driven company, and how NBM is here to bring inspiring and meaningful stories to video production and social media.
The Beginning: Why I Chose This Path
Fourteen years in TV broadcast and digital media in the Philippines taught me more than just technical skills. I learned about resilience, creativity, and the power of storytelling. Each season of my life brought a new breakthrough: sometimes small, sometimes life-changing. These experiences shaped my vision and gave me a deep understanding of how media can connect people and inspire change.
In 2022, my wife Nherry, our two boys Nathan and Noah, and I moved to Canada. This new chapter was both exciting and challenging. To grow professionally, I studied Broadcasting Performance and Digital Media, then Social Media Marketing at Conestoga College. These programs helped me sharpen my skills and adapt to a new environment. Through it all, I felt a strong sense that God was guiding us through every season, both personally and professionally.

Next Breakthrough Media started as Neil Barnes Media, a personal brand and passion project. Now, NBM is a start-up video production and social media company. Our goal is simple: to help individuals and businesses tell their stories in a way that feels authentic and impactful.
